Requirements

ADULT Test Takers

•  Adults 19 years old and older are qualified to register and take the HiSET exam.

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

•  16- to 18-year-olds must request an official High School Letter of Withdrawal from their school of last attendance. 
•  The High School Letter of Withdrawal must be on official school letterhead and must state the
student's name, date of birth, and last date of attendance. 
•  You must provide the Bozeman HiSET Testing Center with your letter of withdrawal before you will be allowed to schedule any HiSET tests.  Call 406-522-6012 for more information.
•  All 16-year-olds must obtain a 16-year-old Waiver Form which will be approved by the State of Montana.  See below to download "16-Year-Old Waiver Application and Checklist."

HOME-SCHOOLED STUDENTS


•  17- and 18-year-olds must have Home School documentation from the County Superintendent of Schools (call 582-3090). If your child is not a registered home school student, the supervisor/teacher of the home school curriculum must provide documentation of withdrawal from home school.  The letter must state the student's name, their date of birth, and the end date of home schooling.
•  All 16-year-olds must obtain a 16-year-old Waiver Form which will be approved by the State of Montana.  See below to download "16-Year-Old Waiver Application and Checklist."
